Cody Thomas signed with the Orix Buffaloes of Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, a Japanese superstar pitcher, could be posted by his Japanese team, the Orix Buffaloes, this week and begin negotiations with MLB teams.

Yamamoto is highly coveted and considered the top pitching-only prospect to come out of Nippon Professional Baseball in recent years.

Several big-market teams, including the Mets and Yankees, are expected to be in the hunt for Yamamoto's services in the upcoming season. [ more ]

Yoshinobu Yamamoto is expected to be posted for MLB free agency by the Orix Buffaloes of NPB.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and St. Louis Cardinals are among the teams interested in Yamamoto.
